Short version: BrewDozer stores what you put into it, uses your e-mail to sign you in and to send the alerts you set up, and runs no ads, no third-party analytics, and no tracking. We don't sell data — there's nothing here to sell but your grain bills. The longer version follows.
1. Who's responsible
BrewDozer is the controller of the personal data described here. For anything privacy-related, write to info@brewdozer.com.
2. What we collect
- Account: your e-mail address, and the name and country you enter in your profile.
- Your brewing data: recipes, batches, brew-day logs, fermentation readings, inventory, notes, settings — whatever you create in the app.
- Community activity: recipes you choose to publish, plus ratings and comments you leave, shown under your profile name.
- Device streams: gravity and temperature readings your hydrometer posts to a batch's stream address.
- Technical basics: ordinary server logs (IP address, request, time) kept briefly for security and debugging, and a sign-in token plus preferences (like theme) stored in your own browser.
That's the lot. No advertising identifiers, no analytics scripts, no cross-site anything.
3. Why we use it
- To run the service you signed up for — storing your data, drawing your charts, doing your math (contract).
- To sign you in and reach you — one-time login codes, and fermentation alerts you've enabled. All e-mail is transactional; we don't send marketing (contract).
- To keep the service safe — abuse prevention, debugging, backups (legitimate interest).
4. Who sees it
Your recipes and brewing data are private unless you publish a recipe — published recipes, and the ratings and comments on them, are visible to other users along with your profile name and country.
Behind the scenes we use infrastructure providers to host the service and deliver e-mail. They process data on our instructions, under contract, and for no other purpose. We don't sell or rent personal data to anyone, and we disclose it only if the law genuinely requires it.
5. How long we keep it
As long as your account exists. Ask us to delete your account and we remove your personal data and content, with a short lag for backups to cycle out. Server logs are kept only briefly. Recipes you published may be removed from the community as part of deletion.
6. Your rights
Under the GDPR (and similar laws elsewhere) you can:
- see and take your data — the app exports recipes and records in BeerXML, BeerJSON, PDF, and CSV, any time, no paywall;
- correct it — profile details are editable in Settings;
- delete it — e-mail us and we'll delete your account and data;
- object or restrict — tell us and we'll respond;
- complain — to your local data protection authority, though we'd appreciate the chance to fix it first.
7. Cookies and local storage
The app keeps your sign-in token and interface preferences in your browser's local storage so you stay logged in and the app remembers how you like it. There are no advertising or tracking cookies — nothing follows you around the internet.
8. Children
BrewDozer is about brewing beer and isn't directed at children. Don't use it if you're under 18.
9. Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we'll say so in the app or by e-mail before it takes effect. The date at the top tells you when it was last revised.
